Mustafa’s memorable trip for Parkinson’s disease treatment in India
Hi,
I am Mustafa (60) from Bangladesh, came to India for treatment of Parkinson’s disease at Delhi. I am here to share my experience of travel to India with the co-ordination of DHEERAJ BOJWANI HEALTHCARE CONSULTANTS. A couple of months before, I had a severe neuro problem or you can call disease i.e. Parkinson’s disease. I begin to have an affect on small areas of cells in mid brain known as the substantia nigra. Degeneration of these cells caused a reduction in the chemical called dopamine, and this reduction results in the signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. I consulted my doctor and he told me about the whole conditions and symptoms. Parkinson’s disease is a non-fatal, chronic neurological condition named after Dr. James Parkinson, who first identified and described the syndrome in 1817. The disease progresses slowly, affecting a small area of cells in the mid-brain known as the substantia nigra. Although Parkinson’s disease can occur at any age, it rarely occurs in individuals younger than 30. Rather, it often occurs between the ages of 50 and 80 years, with most people experiencing their first symptoms around age 60. Typically, risk increases with age. Early symptoms are generally subtle and progress gradually. Although Parkinson’s disease is a chronic illness, medication and the support of friends and family can help relieve many of the symptoms. This enables affected individuals to maintain a reasonable quality of life.
Then he suggested me to take a medical surgery as soon as possible. But I was very nervous about healthcare and costs. I was thinking that how will I manage all this suddenly!! Then my doctor showed me the website of Dheeraj Bojwani healthcare consultants for Parkinson’s disease treatment at Delhi in India that was available at a very low cost with best medical facilities and infrastructure as compared to US, UK. I visited that website and was very impressed. So I contacted to Dr. Dheeraj Bojwani for the consultation of Parkinson’s disease treatment at Delhi in India. He offered me the best prices. He gave me all the description about cleanliness etc of Indian hospitals and assured me that I won’t let you down. So I decided to travel to India for Parkinson’s disease treatment at Delhi. My wife was there with me. We both were received very warmly by the consultants of the company. I also met to Dr. Bojwani. My surgery was to be performed next day, I was very nervous but my wife gave me courage.
In my case, surgery was needed as I do not respond to drugs. A therapy called deep brain stimulation (DBS) has now been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In DBS, electrodes were implanted into the brain and connected to a small electrical device called a pulse generator that was externally programmed. DBS reduced the need for levodopa and related drugs, which in turn decreased the involuntary movements called dyskinesias that are a common side effect of levodopa. It also helped to alleviate fluctuations of symptoms and to reduce tremors, slowness of movements, and gait problems. DBS required careful programming of the stimulator device in order to work correctly. My surgery was performed very well. After that me and my wife was taken to some sight-seeing places of Delhi like India Gate, Indira Gandhi National Airport etc. The cost was included in the surgery package. I was very surprised to see that how India is so beautiful due to its cultural heritage and Indian traditions. I can’t forget my memorable trip to India for Parkinson’s disease treatment at Delhi.
